What are essences?
Flower and vibrational essences are an amazing resource to help create emotional balance and enable the development of a deeper sense of self. Generally taken as drops under the tongue or in a glass of water, they are the positive energy of a plant, gem, precious metal, special place or event, stored in spring water and preserved in alcohol (either brandy or vodka). When matched to a negative emotion, they enable a gentle release and a new positive way of being. As a Flower & Vibrational Essence Practitioner my skill is in the creation of bespoke combinations of essences from the diverse essence ranges that I have collected over the years.
How do I use essences?
Apart from drops under the tongue or in water, some other ways to use essences are:
– To add 5 drops of your chosen essence to a 30ml mister containing spring water and misting around the head and body.
– Adding a couple drops to the bath and soaking for 20+ minutes will encourage the body to gently release old memories and emotions which it has stored because they weren’t properly processed at the time of happening. I often find I have a release of great big tears even when I am not aware of what my body is letting go.
– Adding a couple drops to a diffuser will gently release the essence into your living space. This is a lovely way to create harmonious energy in the home or work place.
– Adding a couple drops to a bowl of water placed in a space in the home or work place. I often have an essence bowl next to me when I am working to help me stay focussed. This is also a great way for the family to make a group bowl, with each person adding their own choice to create harmony and healing within the home.
When working with essences it is important to develop an awareness of your body and what it is telling you. When old stories or emotions come up, acknowledge them and let them go, by breathing them out or imagining blowing them into a balloon that you let fly up into the air. Do not hold onto the stories or emotions, or you will keep hold of the negative pattern that your body is trying to release.
Who can use essences?
Flower essences can be taken by everyone, including children, the elderly, during pregnancy and pets. They do not have any interaction with food, drink, supplements or medications. They have no scent or taste except for the alcohol preservative.
How do I store essences?
I work with light and am of the opinion that the new light energies coming to Earth mean that essences no longer need to be kept in dark bottles (hence my clear ones). However, it is prudent to keep your stock essence bottles in a cool, dark place (I keep mine in boxes). My dosage bottles are scattered randomly about my house though I do keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
When you purchase a stock strength bottle of essence, you will need to dilute this to dosage strength. To create a dosage strength bottle you will need a 30ml bottle which can be purchased from me, from your local chemist shop or another online supplier. First rinse with boiling water to ensure it is clean and allow to cool before filling 1/3 with alcohol (brandy or vodka), 2/3 bottle spring water and 4 drops of stock essence. If you are not keen on alcohol, allergic or unable to take it, you could either add the essence to hot water/drink to allow the alcohol to evaporate or make a small amount (15ml) of spring water and 2 drops of essence and keep in the fridge for two weeks max, after which I would recommend making a fresh dosage bottle.
If you would like to purchase a bottle without any alcohol preservative, please contact me.
When taking the essence, ensure that you do not touch the pipette as the germs from your mouth can make the essence go off. The pipette can be cleaned by pouring boiling water over or by wiping with a cloth soaked in neat alcohol.
